Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

My One Button is a product of K.B.A. Investments Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales.

In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean K.B.A. Investments Limited trading as My One Button. "You" and "your" mean the person using the My One Button app or website.

These terms apply to:

  • The My One Button app, available at https://myonebutton.co.uk and through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
  • The My One Button website, at https://myonebutton.com

These terms form a legally binding contract between you and us.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account, signing in, or using My One Button in any way, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use My One Button.

If you are using My One Button on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

3. Your account

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use My One Button.

If you live somewhere with a higher minimum age for online services, you must meet whichever age applies to you.

3.2 One account per person

You may have one account per person. Sharing an account or creating multiple accounts to get around limits is not allowed.

3.3 Accuracy of your information

You agree to provide accurate, current information when you sign up, and to keep it up to date. We rely on this to provide the service and to reach you when needed.

3.4 Account security

You are responsible for keeping your password safe. If someone else uses your account because you let them have your password, that's on you, not us.

If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, email [email protected] immediately so we can help secure it.

3.5 We may suspend or close accounts

We may suspend or close your account if:

  • You break these terms.
  • You misuse the service in a way that harms us, other users, or third parties.
  • We are legally required to.
  • Your payment fails repeatedly and we cannot reach you.

If we close your account, you will lose access to your captures. You can request a copy of your data before we delete it (see Section 11.4).

4. What My One Button does

My One Button is a voice-first capture app. You speak (or type), and the AI files what you said into one of 12 categories.

The product includes:

  • The orb — tap once to start recording, tap again to stop. Speak whatever you want to capture.
  • AI classification — the AI sorts each capture into the right category. You can correct it if it gets it wrong.
  • 12 categories — the zones where your captures live (Today, What's Next, Remember, People, Wins, Shopping List, and others).
  • Today's Focus — set up to three things to focus on each day.
  • Reminders — set a time and the app will remind you.
  • Wins tracker — daily sub-trackers for habits you want to build.
  • Search and edit — find and change anything you've captured.

We add new features over time. We may also change or remove features as the product evolves.

5. Subscription tiers and billing

My One Button has the following subscription tiers:

A few things worth highlighting:

  • Plus Pro and Plus Max are monthly-only at launch. Annual options for these tiers may be added in a future release.
  • Lifetime is capped at the first 500 paying users. It grants Plus-tier access (all 12 categories, 500 captures/month, Haiku 4.5). Lifetime users who later need higher volume or deeper AI reasoning can layer a Plus Pro or Plus Max monthly subscription on top.
  • Capture caps reset on the first day of each calendar month. They are not rolling 30-day caps.
  • What happens at the cap: if you reach your tier's monthly cap, capture is paused until the start of the next month or until you upgrade your tier. Reading, searching, editing, and exporting existing captures continue to work.

5.1 How billing works

  • On the web — billing is handled by Stripe.
  • On iPhone or iPad — billing is handled by Apple's App Store.
  • On Android — billing is handled by Google Play Billing.

The price you pay may differ between platforms because of platform fees and local tax. We try to keep them aligned but cannot always.

5.2 Subscriptions auto-renew

Monthly subscriptions renew every month. Annual subscriptions renew every year. We will charge the payment method on file unless you cancel before the renewal date.

For App Store and Play Store subscriptions, renewal is managed by Apple or Google in your account settings on those platforms.

5.3 Price changes

We may change prices over time. If we increase the price of your subscription, we will:

  • Email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
  • Give you the chance to cancel before the new price kicks in.

The new price applies from your next renewal.

5.4 Tax

All prices include UK VAT where applicable. For users outside the UK, we charge whatever local tax we are required to collect.

6. The 14-day free trial

When you sign up, you get a 14-day free trial of Plus Pro (all 12 categories, 1,500 captures, Sonnet 4.6 AI model). This lets you experience the deeper-reasoning AI model and the higher capture volume before choosing your permanent tier.

  • During the trial, you have full Plus Pro access.
  • We do not charge your payment method during the trial.
  • On day 15, the trial ends and you choose your permanent tier: Basic, Plus monthly, Plus annual, Plus Pro, Plus Max, or Lifetime. You will be charged for whichever you select. Plus monthly is the default selection at the choice screen.
  • If you cancel before day 15, you are not charged. Your account will be suspended until you choose a paid tier — there is no permanent free tier. Your captures remain safe and will be restored when you re-subscribe.

You can only use one free trial per person. If you cancel and re-subscribe, you do not get a new trial.

7. Cancelling and refunds

7.1 How to cancel

Cancelling is easy. Two taps from inside the app:

  • Web subscriptions — Settings → Account → Cancel subscription.
  • App Store subscriptions — manage in iPhone Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
  • Play Store subscriptions — manage in Google Play app → Payments and subscriptions.

We do not use retention dark patterns. We do not make you talk to anyone to cancel. Two taps total.

7.2 What happens when you cancel

  • Your subscription stays active until the end of your current billing period.
  • After that, your account is suspended (since there is no permanent free tier). You can re-subscribe at any time and your captures will be restored.
  • Your captures stay safe — nothing gets deleted just because you cancelled.

7.3 Refunds — the 100% Happy Users Guarantee

We want everyone using My One Button to love it.

If for any reason you are not happy, we will refund you. No questions asked.

To request a refund, email [email protected] with the date and amount. We aim to respond within 24 hours.

For App Store and Play Store purchases, refunds are processed by Apple or Google according to their refund policies. We cannot directly refund those payments — but if Apple or Google refuse, contact us and we'll find a way to make it right.

8. Beta users

If you are one of the first 100 beta users, special terms apply:

  • You have 30 days of free Plus Pro access (all 12 categories, 1,500 captures, Sonnet 4.6 AI model).
  • On day 31, you choose your permanent tier: Basic, Plus monthly, Plus annual, Plus Pro, Plus Max, Lifetime, or cancel.
  • As a beta user, you have access to a referral perk: each successful referral = one free month for you (at your chosen tier).

We may also ask for your feedback during the beta. You're under no obligation to give it, but we'd love it if you did.

The feedback you share with us — including any captures you choose to reference in feedback — may be used internally to improve the product. We will not share specific feedback publicly without your consent.

9. What you can and cannot do

9.1 What you can do

You may use My One Button to:

  • Capture your own thoughts, ideas, lists, reminders, anything legal.
  • Share your captures with people you trust (when sharing features ship).
  • Export your data at any time.
  • Cancel at any time.

9.2 What you cannot do

You may not:

  • Use My One Button for any illegal purpose, or to capture content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes someone else's rights.
  • Capture child sexual abuse material, content promoting violence or terrorism, or any other content that is illegal in the UK.
  • Try to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our source code or AI models.
  • Scrape the service or use automated tools to extract data beyond what's offered through normal use.
  • Resell or sublicense access to My One Button to others.
  • Try to bypass usage limits, capture caps, or trial restrictions.
  • Impersonate us, our team, or another user.
  • Use the service to send spam or unsolicited communications.
  • Disrupt the service for other users (denial-of-service attempts, exploiting security vulnerabilities for non-research purposes).

If you spot a security vulnerability, please email [email protected] — we appreciate responsible disclosure and will work with you in good faith.

9.3 Consequences of breaking these rules

If you break these rules, we may:

  • Warn you.
  • Suspend or close your account.
  • Refuse a refund (where the breach is serious).
  • Report you to law enforcement (where the breach involves illegal activity).

10. Your captures stay yours

10.1 You own your content

Anything you capture in My One Button is yours. You own it. We don't claim any ownership.

10.2 The licence you give us

To run the service, we need a limited licence from you to handle your captures. By using My One Button, you grant us:

  • A non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, classify, and display your captures back to you.
  • The right to transmit your captures to the third-party services listed in our Privacy Policy (Anthropic, OpenAI Whisper, Supabase) for the specific purpose of running the service.

This licence ends when you delete the capture or close your account (apart from any backups we are required to keep for legal reasons — see the Privacy Policy).

10.3 What we will never do

  • We will never sell your captures.
  • We will never train AI models on your captures without your explicit consent.
  • We will never share your captures with anyone outside the sub-processors needed to run the service.
  • We will never read your captures except where strictly necessary (e.g. when you ask us for support, or when we are legally required to).

11. Service availability and limitations

11.1 Beta software

My One Button is in active development. Things may break. Features may change. There may be bugs.

We do not provide a service-level agreement (SLA) at this stage. We aim for high uptime but cannot guarantee it.

11.2 Internet connection required

My One Button needs an internet connection for capture, classification, and sync. Some features work offline (captures are queued locally and sync when you reconnect), but the full experience requires connectivity.

11.3 Voice recognition accuracy

Voice transcription is provided by OpenAI's Whisper. It's good but not perfect. Transcription accuracy depends on background noise, accent, and clarity of speech. We do not guarantee any particular level of accuracy.

11.4 Account deletion and data export

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. When you do:

  • Account deletion is immediate.
  • Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days, except for payment records we are legally required to keep.

You can also export all your data at any time from Settings.

12. Liability and disclaimers

12.1 What we promise

We promise to:

  • Provide the service with reasonable care and skill.
  • Keep your data secure using industry-standard practices (see Privacy Policy, Section 10).
  • Refund you if you are not happy (see Section 7.3).

12.2 What we do not promise

We do not promise:

  • That the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • That the AI classification will always be correct.
  • That captures will always be transcribed accurately.
  • That the service will meet your specific requirements or be compatible with every device.

12.3 Our liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any loss arising from your use of My One Button is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for:

  • Loss of data (back up your important captures using the export feature).
  • Loss of profit, revenue, or business opportunities.
  • Indirect or consequential losses.

12.4 What this section does not affect

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that cannot be excluded by contract. These terms do not affect those rights.

13. Governing law and disputes

13.1 English law applies

These terms are governed by English law.

13.2 Where disputes are heard

Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of My One Button will be heard in the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer based in another part of the UK or in the EU, you have the right to bring a claim in your local courts under your local consumer protection law. These terms do not take that right away.

13.3 Trying to resolve things first

Before going to court, please email [email protected] or [email protected]. We genuinely want to put things right and most issues can be sorted with a conversation.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the product, the business, or the law changes.

When we make a substantive change (one that affects your rights, the price you pay, or how the service works), we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top.
  • Email you to let you know what's changed.
  • Give you at least 30 days' notice before the change takes effect.

If you do not agree to the change, you can cancel before it takes effect and we will refund any prepaid period that you haven't used.

When we make a minor change (typos, clarifications, restructuring), we will update the date but not necessarily email you.

15. Other important things

15.1 If part of these terms is invalid

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the terms stay in effect.

15.2 We don't waive our rights by not enforcing them

If we don't enforce a right under these terms, that doesn't mean we've given it up. We can still enforce it later.

15.3 You can't transfer your account

You may not transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them (for example, if K.B.A. Investments Limited is sold) — we will let you know if we do.

15.4 The whole agreement

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice, form the whole agreement between you and us about My One Button. They replace any previous agreements.
